Sacred Nature

Shannon Yeardley

Painted over the past three years, this body of work is inspired by the ancient Australian landscape – particularly the rainforests and hinterland of Southeast Queensland and Northern New South Wales. Shannon’s approach is to convey her own deep connection to the personality and soul of the plant, and its home and to offer avenues for the viewer also to feel a connection to nature and a sense of oneness with all that it is.

Spiritus Vitae (The Spirit of Life)

Jessica Cooney

Through her artistry, Jessie Cooney invites a return to the sacred pulse of existence. Each painting a quiet act of devotion – an exploration of light, breath, and the living intelligence that moves through all creation. In luminous layers of oil, her works honour the alchemy of life itself: the way spirit becomes form, and form returns to spirit. Spiritus Vitae marks a new beginning – where art, science, and soul converge and where the act of painting becomes both inquiry and offering to the enduring mystery that animates all things.

BUTTERBOX GALLERY ONE

Between Horse & Horizon

Geoff Bontoft

This exhibition is born from a lifetime spent close to animals and the land. In these works, Bonty honours the quiet understanding shared between horse and rider—the trust, the balance, and the unspoken conversation that happens long before a hoof touches the earth. The landscapes are as much a part of the story as the figures themselves; they shape the mood, the movement, and the moments Bonty has tried to capture. This exhibition is his tribute to the journeys we take in nature, and to the unique connection that exists where horse, rider, and horizon meet.

BUTTERBOX GALLERY TWO

On Location

Peter Pomroy

On Location presents watercolour paintings inspired by the landscapes, plants and wildlife of the Sunshine Coast. Working predominantly en plein air, Pomroy responds to shifting light, fleeting moments and the subtle rhythms of nature, allowing each brushstroke to capture both observation and feeling. The fluid, unpredictable qualities of watercolour mirror the energy of the natural world. The exhibition celebrates the beauty and vitality of the Sunshine Coast, inviting viewers to connect with its living landscapes.

Squared Up, Rounded Out is our new Members Gallery mixed media art exhibition. In this show all 2D artwork embraces the harmony of the square, while all 3D pieces celebrate the fluidity and openness of the round. Together, these works create a playful dialogue between edges and curves, structure and flow. It is also a show that lets the viewer consider how arranged shapes and sizes can influence how they view an exhibition and that familiar forms can reveal unexpected possibilities.
